A reminder for me to be observant and stay present.

Photography is my way of validating what I see as interesting or important.  It serves as a reminder for me to keep looking deeply, to be observant and to stay present.

I mainly use my photographs as a sketchbook of ideas that I can later use in my studio as a source of information and inspiration.  I was given the gift of a Kodak Brownie Scout camera when I was ten years old and I still have many of the black and white photos from that time. Even then, I used the camera to make sense of the world and record my wonder and excitement.

The camera has been my constant inspiration and companion.
